Ying Zhang is currently the Creative Director at the Human Rights Foundation in New York, where she directs and executes the foundation’s visual and branding initiatives, ensuring the output is of the highest quality. She delivers strategic and impactful audience experiences ensuring consistency and cohesion across all touchpoints. Supervising a team of creative professionals—including core team members, agencies, illustrators and freelancers—she leads the development of the visual identity for the Oslo Freedom Forum, an annual three-day human rights conference in Oslo, Norway.
A builder at heart with a bias-towards-action, she is passionate about creating impactful and memorable experiences for brands she believes in. With a strong understanding of business goals and strategy, she helps organizations define their identity and express it through visuals, storytelling, voice and actions and doing so with empathy, enthusiasm and optimism.
Originally from China, and raised in Australia, she has lived in Melbourne, Tokyo, London and New York. An avid traveler, she has visited over 95 cities in almost 30 countries, with favorites including Marrakesh, the Sahara Desert, Mexico City and Seoul. When not traveling, you'll find her meandering through the halls of an art gallery, inspired and moved by the works of Camille Henrot, Sougwen Chung and Robert Rauschenberg.
