Story
Not Yet It's Difficult (NYID) is a producer of cultural events and creator of contemporary artworks. With a mission to incite narratives of inquiry that engage the public viscerally, intellectually and humorously around ideas, politics, art and the human condition, NYID holds a unique presence in Australia's contemporary arts culture.
Challenge
NYID's website had remained unchanged since its founding in 1992 and had become outdated in technology and content. The site was text-heavy with a labyrinthine and deep navigation structure that contributed to a confusing user journey. Our goal was to create a new site that is contemporary in look-and-feel, with updated content and simplified navigation.
Outcome
We partnered with More Studios to refresh NYID's visual identity and created a new archival site that prioritizes images and videos. The new CMS facilitated easy addition of new projects while the site itself served as a comprehensive repository of indexed NYID projects dating back to the organization's founding.

Conceptually, the UI design references the history of cinema and the projected images—recurring themes in NYID's work. Black boxes with text pay homage to the subtitles found in silent films, while the OCR-A font, retained from the previous website, reflects NYID’s heritage and origins.
